New Zealand Bus's Go Wellington subsidiary is the first transport operator to accept Snapper. In addition, a strong retailer footprint enables commuters to buy their coffees, magazines, lunches and everyday items with their Snapper. EFTPOS New Zealand supports the retailer network throughout the region and nationally.
Over 150,000 Snappers have been issued in Wellington, generating over 33 million transactions, across over 400 buses, 700 taxis, and hundreds of retailers in New Zealand.
Snapper Services Limited was formed in 2006 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Infratil Limited. Snapper launched in 2008, has offices in Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand, and employs over 40 people.
