Wellington International Airport and Infratil have supported the establishment of Wellington High Performance Aquatics (WHPA).
Modelled on the Australian Institute of Sport WHPA aims to develop athletes to enable them to excel at an elite level.
The foundation sport is diving, with other aquatic disciplines to follow as the centre grows. The organisation is unashamedly focussed on elite performance, believing that success will inspire greater participation and performance by a wider following of athletes.
Infratil recognises the need to keep high performers in Wellington (and New Zealand) and have committed to support the establishment and development WPHA for the next four years. Infratil's support is consistent with their own focus on delivering world class performance from a Wellington base.
