| Why did you join? | Good Fortune First joined Wellington International Airport in 2003, basically because it seemed like an interesting enviroment to work in. I didn't quite understand that the airport was part of a wider group owned and managed by a NZ listed investment company. Fortunately it turned out that the investment company was an ambitious, innovative organisation, that was willing to invest in its people, and I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to transfer to the European Airports Group, based in Scotland. Currently it's the best case scenario I could think of, doing my "OE", while still working for a NZ owned company, working in a developing part of the business and being part of a wider organisation, looking to grow and continue being successful for its stakeholders. |
| Focus of your role? | All the usuall responsibilities of a finance function, but more importantly, being part of a senior management team responsible for delivering the potential of our airport assets. |
| Culture and environment | The mix of different cultures across the organisation is fascinating (currently Scottish, English and German), and I enjoy being part of it. It is also great to see, and be part of, the NZ influence and the combination of all different cultures. But the one thing we all have in common is a desire to see our airports succeed. The enviroment can be challenging. I will never complaining about Wellington wind again... |
