Profile

Infratil Energy Australia (IEA) provides all the energy wholesale procurement and risk management requirements of Infratil's energy retailing subsidiary, Lumo Energy. In so doing it is also pursuing upstream asset investments where they enhance and support Infratil's retail growth aspirations.

IEA executives also oversee, through board positions, its investment in Perth Energy (82% shareholding).

IEA owns three peaking power stations totalling 100MW capacity, Angaston and Lonsdale in South Australia and the Hunter power station in NSW, and is currently constructing a further 65MW at Port Stanvas in South Australia.

Through Perth Energy it has recently completed its 120MW dual fuel power station at Kwinana (West Australia).

IEA’s management, in conjunction with Morrison & Co, has substantial experience in the peak generation sector of the Australian electricity market. This has been gained through the operational experience in trading Southern Hydro's peaking generation, its governance over listed Australian companies and specialist advisory assignments with Australian industry players over a ten year period.

The board of IEA comprises:
Bruce Harker - Chairman of  New Zealand listed generator/retailer TrustPower, Lumo Energy and ex Chairman of Southern Hydro
Mark Tume - Director of Infratil
Kevin Baker - Chief Financial Officer of Infratil
Roger Crawford - Director of Lumo Energy
Vaughan Busby - previously Managing Director of ASX listed Energy One
Darryl S Flukes - previously General Manager, Energy Trading at Southern Hydro
