Wrap up

Infratil Energy Australia (IEA) provides all the energy wholesale procurement and risk management requirements of Infratil's energy retailing subsidiary, Victoria Electricity. In so doing it is also pursuing upstream asset investments where they enhance and support Infratil's retail growth aspirations.

IEA executives also oversee, through board positions, its investment in Perth Energy (81.2% shareholding).

IEA owns three peaking power stations totalling 100MW capacity: Angaston and Lonsdale in South Australia and the Hunter power station in NSW. Through Perth Energy it has recently executed contracts to build a 120MW power station at Kwinana (West Australia).

IEA’s management, in conjunction with Morrison & Co, has substantial experience in the peak generation sector of the Australian electricity market. This has been gained through the operational experience in trading Southern Hydro's peaking generation, its governance over listed Australian companies and specialist advisory assignments with Australian industry players over a ten year period.

The board of IEA comprises:
Bruce Harker - Deputy Chairman of ASX listed Energy Developments and New Zealand listed generator/retailer TrustPower, Chairman of Victoria Electricity and ex Chairman of Southern Hydro
Marko Bogoievski - Chief Operating Officer of Infratil
Kevin Baker - Chief Financial Officer of Infratil
Roger Crawford - Director of Victoria Electricity
Darryl S Flukes - previously General Manager, Energy Trading at Southern Hydro
